The Sabres regular season opener is on Sunday at First Niagara Center against the Philadelphia Flyers. Faceoff is scheduled for 12:30 p.m.

Single game tickets went on sale to the general public on Tuesday. Just about an hour after they went on sale, only single seats were available for a handful of games.

The Sabre fan is excited about the upcoming year.   Coming off a disappointing season, are the Sabres a playoff team this year? Buffalo returns most of their core players from last season. The biggest offseason move involved a deal with Dallas that shipped Derek Roy for forward Steve Ott and  defenseman Adam Pardy. The Sabres strenght is on defense and at goalie.   The team added toughness in Ott and John Scott. The big issue will be scoring. Buffalo ranked 17th in the league for goals scored last year. In a 48-game schedule anything is possible.
