Rochester Man Guilty in Baseball Bat Attack on Niece

A Rochester man has been convicted by a jury of first-degree assault for a baseball bat attack on his niece.

Police said 34-year-old Jacob Seffens was in a sexual relationship with the 18-year-old girl, and went after her with the bat when she tried to break it off.

The girl was beaten so severely, she had to be placed in a medically-induced coma to help her recover from traumatic brain injury.

Fortunately, she is on her way to a full recovery.

Seffens faces five-to-25 years in prison when he's sentenced May 28th.
