Rochester's Geva Theatre has partnered with the owner of the neighboring property to develop a housing project next to the downtown theater.

Geva  has signed a 10-year lease on One Woodbury Boulevard, 150 steps from their front door. Along with property owner Eduard Nakhamin and developers Patrick and Luke Dutton, they plan to develop 11 studio loft apartments. They'll mainly be used to house the actors appearing in Geva productions.  Theater officials say they have to provide housing for Equity actors and stage managers during a production run, and this will be first-class housing that matches the reputation of the theater itself.

They expect to have the conversion finished next year.
