Rochester, N.Y. - The Former Rochester Police Officer that shot and killed his son in a hotel room in Old Forage in 2012 will be sentenced today.

Michael Leach pleaded guilty in June to criminally negligent homicide and will spend up to 6-months in prison and could receive 5-years probation.

Leach claimed that he suffered from PTSD following a shooting in the 1970s -- causing him recurring nightmares of someone breaking into his home. Leach told investigators that he shot his son, Matthew, because he thought he was an intruder.
