Rochester, N.Y. - Prosecutors say new evidence will help illustrate that Clayton Whittemore was involved in a "cycle of abuse" that ended with the death of his girlfriend.
Jury selection will continue this afternoon in the murder trial of the Utica area man. He is accused in the fatal beating of his girlfriend Alexandra Kogut in her dorm room at Brockport in 2012.
Prosecutors have retrieved voice messages from the victim’s cell phone including some that had been previously erased. They say the messages suggest that what happened that September night in 2012 was part of a pattern of behavior.
The trial could last three to four weeks.
