Rochester N.Y.- The University of Rochester is getting two gifts from The Wegman Family Charitable Foundation totaling $17 million.
The gifts include $10 million to the University’s Institute for Data Science and a $7 million to support the Golisano Children’s Hospital. In recognition of the support for the Institute for Data Science, the Institute’s new building will bear the Wegmans name.
The proposed $25 million building will complete the Science & Engineering Quadrangle on the River Campus. The new hospital is slated to open in the summer of 2015.
