Voters Consider Same Budget In West Irondequoit

Posted Tuesday, June 17th 2014 @ 6am

West Irondequoit N.Y.- Today is do-over day for voters in the West Irondequoit School District.

The same school budget that was defeated in the recent election is up for another vote.

The budget includes a 3.9 percent property tax increase -- exceeding the two percent state cap and requiring 60 percent approval. About 56 percent of voters voted "yes" on the first attempt.

Superintendent Jeff Crane says if the budget is defeated, drastic program cuts will be needed.
