(13hWHAM) Rochester, N.Y. - Today is the first of nine days of music as the The Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival officially kicks off.

Lots of music is free, some events require tickets.

The free shows will roll rain or shine.

Tonight is the opening night for free shows featuring Dr. John playing at the stage at East Avenue and Chestnut Street.

Pink Martini will play at 8 p.m. at Kodak Hall at Eastman Theatre--you'll need tickets for that one.

Getting there is easier than ever with free shuttle bus service, which will be offered all nine days.

Buses begin running from 5 p.m. and run until midnight, with buses arriving at each stop about every 15 minutes. Last pick-ups are at 11:30 p.m.
