Rochester N.Y.-, N.Y. - It must be that time of year again. Monday will mark the first Cool Sweep operation of the 2013 summer season.

Mayor Thomas S. Richards made the announcement, to get ready for temperatures that are expected to reach 85 degrees.

Cool Sweep is the city's annual public safety and customer service program for city residents who have limited opportunities to beat the heat. Residents can cool down using the spray from fire hydrants.

"I urge all city residents to take advantage of Cool Sweep, enjoy swimming pools during the hot weather and take the necessary steps to stay healthy and safe by staying cool," Mayor Richards said.
