(13WHAM) Rochester, N.Y. - Testimony continued Tuesday in the trial against two people accused of killing a Fairport teacher.

Prosecutors allege Mark Scerbo and Megan Merkel were under the influence of drugs and alcohol when they hit and killed Heather Boyum.

Boyum was riding her bike along Rt. 250 last summer when police say Scerbo hit her with his motorcycle because he was driving recklessly.

Boyum was thrown into the road and into the path of the car Merkel was driving.

Danielle Schrom, who was in the car with Merkel at the time time of the deadly crash, testified that she had been drinking with Merkel.

Schrom also said that she panicked and moved the car after the crash, because the car's brakes were faulty and that there were several beer cans inside.

Merkel and Scerbo are being tried at the same time, but have separate juries.
