Rochester N.Y.- Senator Chuck Schumer will be in Rochester this morning to criticize a proposed federal regulation that he says could hurt craft brewers and family farmers.

Schumer will speak at Rohrbach's  Brewing at 11 a.m.

He says a proposed Food and Drug Administration regulation would forbid brewers from donating or selling a byproduct known as "spent grain" for use by farmers as livestock feed. If the rule takes effect, Schumer says costs for brewers and farmers will go up and the spent grain will end up in landfills.
