(13WHAM) Irondequit N.Y.- The Town of Irondequoit could file an appeal this week to keep boaters further away from a stretch on the Lake Ontario Shoreline near the outlet bridge.

People living there had complained boaters were trespassing on their private beach and had become antagonistic. The town enacted a law last year that required boaters stay at least 300 feet of shote..A coalition of boaters sued.

Last week, a judge called the town’s law invalid, saying the town should have conducted an environmental review and held a second hearing.

Irondequoit town leaders will meet for the first time since this ruling on Tuesday to consider thier next move.

For now, Town Supervisor Mary Joyce D’Aurizio says there will be an increased police presence in place along the shoreline
