Henrietta, N.Y.- Henrietta Town Supervisor Michael Yudelson has become a Democrat. Yudelson has served as Henrietta supervisor for six years.

“Sadly, the Republican Party is allowing itself to be defined by extremists who put ideology ahead of governance and responsible citizenship,” said Yudelson. “The shutdown of the federal government and threatened national default are only the latest examples of a party that has abandoned its principles in the pursuit of a narrow political agenda. My core beliefs haven’t changed, but theirs have.”

Last month, Yudelson lost the Republican primary to local farmer Jack Moore.

Yudelson will remain on the conservative and independent lines on the upcoming ballot.

Today is the deadline for officially changing party designation prior to Election Day.
