Rochester, NY -- Casino opponents say new numbers show Seneca Nation casinos in Niagara Falls and Salamanca haven't held down property taxes or crime
Former Rochester Mayor Bill Johnson's consulting firm is doing the research for the No More Casinos Coalition. He says the only year that the tax rates went down in the host communities was the first year of operations.
Johnson concedes many towns without casinos have had even higher tax increases, but he says the casino communities were promised tax rates would be held steady or lowered.
The casino opponents are planning to speak out at the next county legislature meeting May 13th
